The game can slow way down when too many files are in there. If you have too many save game files, try deleting some of them. This includes Steam overlay, EVGA, Afterburner, Avast antivirus, EMET, D3D Overrider, Razer and Logitek utils. Many software types have compatibility issues with the mod because they hook in to game process or graphics, so make sure you do not run anything like that. The ENB page says this about conflicts with their mod:
